    Research

    PhD-OS | MA-ComL | BA

As a systems anthropologist, I share the story of cultures of heritage through storycrafting, storied systems design. I apply faith, story, narrative, visual + performance arts, + dialogue. Often this inquiry supports organizations, partnerships, + leaders with transitions, crises, marketing, legacy + life cycles, donor + volunteer base, + campaigns. Storied systems design gathers stories to align ideal visions with practice. This effort influences culture. Recent research supported a local partnership of faith by synthesizing compassionate community with stories, photographs, + motivational interviews to understand their "we story." Current projects include researching heritage development for caresharing of "bookend generations." I integrate creative + visionary approaches with the heart of the matter. I strategize whole systems + organize values + sustain cultures of heritage. I facilitate people creating cultures that serve this purpose while integrating their desired goals. Ultimately, I desire that my research support an anthropology of heritage that integrates people's "we story" so we that can thrive. Contact me below to learn about my applied + creative research.

    Consulting, Coaching, + Facilitation

    Aligning ideal visions with practice

In May 2020, I launched Dogwood Group, a suite of consulting, coaching, creative, development, + heritage services. I support leaders, organizations, + partnerships to integrate cultures of heritage with dialogue + heritage circles, strategic visioning, storycrafting, neighborly workshops, civic dialogue, + retreats. I encourage people to integrate shared visions, align ideals with strategic practice, + to share their story with heart and skill. I develop communal + compassionate health systems, especially around transitions of heritage. I coach leaders, teams, + partnerships to bridge the me to we story. I base this work on my research + writing for partnership + heritage. I have trained as a certified life coach + a transformational group coach. I have served as a facilitator for faith-based cross-sector social partnerships + local campaigns since 2012. Projects support leaders engaged in whole systems, such as partnerships for human + health services, marketing of global nutrigenomics institute, + various local civic, grassroots, + community engagement campaigns + coalitions. Visit Dogwood Group to book + inquire.

    Photography

Editorial | Go local | Especially outdoors

Photography has been a way for me to beautify + editorialize daily life since an aunt gave me a pink wind-up camera when I was 12 years old. As a retired EP-to=APA member. I have since integrated photography with my research, completed assignments for editorial, portrait, + event photography services, + published photographs for a local magazine + newspaper. Once upon a time I ran a photography business for portraits, special events, + organizations. Now I enjoy photographing local events, especially for community or civic engagement, nature + public commons placemaking locally or whilst traveling. I have invited clients to an editorial quest of detail, feeling, + story behind the image, + everyday life with family. Follow me on Instagram or Flickr, + view the collections below. Contact me for how to include photographs in your projects + organizational communication.

    Writing + Editing

Transitions | Faith, hope, love | Integrated + engaged | On the ground

I enjoy short stories, contemplative expositions about faith, advocacy, + love, + poetry. My background in creative writing + communication empowers me to support clients' vision + copy. I integrate story-crafting into my consulting + research. I published various books including a ministry primer, devotional, + prayer book for a theology, formation, + care of heritage, + installments for the "Heritage Chronicles," or stories in different genres about heritage. Previous projects shared the story of faith partnerships, poetry about loss, editorials about civic + public life, technical writing, + intermedia copy. Future projects include children's stories co-written with my son, a publishing group as a ministry, a training + publishing ministry for heritage, + writing journal articles, a screenplay, + speeches. Ministry

    Encouragement | Calling | Ecuministry C.L.C.M.

Minister serves best as action, "to serve" (Greek diakonos [ονος, οῦ, ὁ, ἡ | dee-ak'-on-os]). I serve as a Christian ordained lay minister specializing in influence + culture ecuministries because I am called to encourage people with the gospel through writing, publishing, + heritage theology, formation, + care across multiple genres + denominations. I integrate the heritage model through training opportunities, coach leaders, consult partnerships, + teach. I also serve as a life coach + kingdom minister, + with prayer, chaplaincy, officiancy, Bible study, faith-based group, team, + partnership development, + other services. I validate this labor of joy so that people can live out the calling of the gospel to live, love, + continue together as a family of God. I have rooted by demonstrating this commitment over time in various communities + in my home congregations, each of which commends accountability + credibility to ministry. I have also committed to discipleship, mentorship, on-going training, continuous service learning, ecumenical leadership, transforming adversity, generation care, + neighborliness with commendations. Each of these rely on encouragement, wisdom, prophecy, exhortation, discernment, prayer, + creativity as spiritual gifts. I began my walk with God when I was six years old when my childhood pastor + Dad led me to the Lord. I have felt called to preach since I was a child. The gospel promises a beautiful story of a shared heritage together in Christ that can bless + brighten the world! Contact me to learn more.
